As far as weekends and relationships go, this one started and ended on a terrible note. The stuff in the middle wasn’t much better.
It’s my fault, I admit. I instigated the conversations. It would have been so much easier to stay quiet. I like to think its better because all of it was important. Those that were on the other end of the talks needed to hear what was unsteadily blurted and whispered or shouted and cried.
Monday started decently. It involved baked goods(marshmallow swirl brownies and chocolate chip cookies) as loving peace offerings but ended with a boatload of tension we were trying so, so hard to mitigate.
I’m in the middle of two different battles.
One to keep a relationship as strong as its always been.
And the other is to find out if saving the relationship is worth it… or if it was ever worth anything at all.
I asked my mom about Downton Abbey and she said it was a bit soap opera-y. Not in a bad way though. I’m currently watching the pilot of Ally McBeal. But Sherlock seems short and to the point so maybe I’ll do that next.
Your mother is awesome. Can you tell her that? For me? Thanks!
She’s right though, Downton Abbey is very much ‘soap opera-y’ but its not horrible.
SHERRRRRRLOCKKKKKKKKKKKK. DO IT. Its only six episodes! Each episode is about 90 minutes long and fuckin brilliant. (can you tell I like this show? maybe a little? …or maybe a lot?) Do it so I can fan-girl with someone and tell you how unproductive I am because of it. Seriously.
Brilliant show is brilliant. Beautiful show is beautiful.
I waited a long year and a half for my beloved show to return. On January 1st, it returned only to leave me again after three Sunday nights and a grand total of 270 minutes.
I thoroughly enjoyed every episode(even the one that scared me, shh!). In particular, style of filming is amazing. It’s just beautiful. Also, all the lens flares… is that a thing now? If it is, I like to believe JJ Abrams had some sort of doing in that.
Honestly though, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman’s Doctor John Watson deserve all the awards.
Now, I have no intention of spoiling the show for anyone(whoever is wasting their time reading this, haha) so I won’t go into detail about any episodes. I will just go… sob. Into my pillow pet. And wait patiently for Sherlock to return to me once again.
- Hung out with a couple friends - Played pool with someone who makes me smile :) - Had a giant hang out with a ton of friends I didn’t see over winter break - Chilled with Nick and Nakul for the rest of the night. It involved a lot of unnecessary yelling… which doesn’t come as a surprise - Pasta and apple juice for dinner. Delish.
As far as Thursdays go, this was definitely a good one.
